Main Job Purpose

To own and lead the evaluation, development, and implementation of major business projects that involve overseeing sub-projects and/or multiple delivery components, from concept through to completion in alignment with overarching business strategy.

Accountabilities

Vision, Mission, and Strategy:

Executes internal business development and/or expansion projects in congruence with overarching business strategy.

Scope:

  • The job entails engagement with internal clients and harnessing external resources, with a focus on achieving the target business objective, via the application of end to end project management principles, processes, skills and tools.

Project Initiation & Kick-Off:

  • Own and lead the development of Goody project goals, objectives, and outcomes in alignment with the department or business direction by conducting effective client engagement and kick-off meetings. 
  • Lead the pre-assessment of project resourcing needed to deliver the project, the feasibility of the project expectations and potential risks.
  • Lead the planning and development of project frameworks, project business cases supporting initial project cost estimates, timelines, and manpower requirements.

 

Project Schedule & CPS Management:

  • Develop and own project schedule reviews integrating respective stakeholder inputs and collaboratively challenging tasks planned for longer than proven schedule and tasks on the project critical path.
  • Create detailed reports for Management and Executive staff as required highlighting progress, challenges and help required.
  • Employ the project management phases (i.e. Project Establishment/Initiate, Project Commitment/Execute & Control, Launch and Post-event/Completion and assessment) in pacing and managing risks and decision making on the project.
  • Maintain an archive of project schedule versions and project documentations across the lifecycle of the project from Initiation until Completion to support a quality post-event assessment.
  • Deploy the change management tool for managing critical changes in the schedule of the project to ensure that the full impact is assessed, and mitigation action plans deployed.

 

Risk Management:

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to understand and anticipate potential failure points for the project throughout the life of the project.
  • Perform project risk analysis and design the risk mitigation plan, taking cognizance of project adaptability and identifiable risks.
  • Own and lead the implementation of the risk mitigation plan for portfolio projects.
  • Own the change management process on the project, utilizing it for risk assessment of key project changes in scope, deliverables, execution plan, etc. arising from internal or external drivers.
  • Escalate major risks and help request to the corporate project manager for support.

 

 

Cost Management:

  • Develop and own cost budget for the project based on project expectations and integrating learning from similar project cost details.
  • Determine the appropriate resourcing levels (e.g., staff, contractors, budget) to deliver the project on-time.
  • Participating in the tendering process i.e. design, submission and review, always keeping clients advised of budget and total costs.
  • Own and lead a regular review of the project budget and resource allocation and revision to the budget based on actuals.
  • Lead the identification of cost-saving opportunities and execution of the supporting ideas to realize the cost savings in collaboration with relevant stakeholders on the team.

 

Exception Management & Scenario Planning:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation throughout the project life cycle.
  • Lead the development of supporting scenario-based plans if multiple routes to achieving the project objectives.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to evaluate the impact of exceptional requests, surprises and multiple scenario options on project scope, schedule and costs in addition to potential risks and opportunities to total Goody business.
  • Present written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.

 

Performance Tracking and Agile Methodology:

  • Review Own the recommendation and aligning of project methodology with supervising manager, client, and project team based on the best fit of Goody’s Project Management methods and tools OR other global tools such as Asana, Scoro etc. 
  • Own the definition, tracking and reporting of project measures for ensuring project performance and to identify areas for improvement. 
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track, and report progress following the agreed-upon project management methodology.
  • Lead the root-cause investigation of gaps on project measures and developing gap mitigation actions to bring the project back on track.

 

Systems/Processes:

  • Root Cause/Track/Improve IMP, DOT, Cost Savings and Initiative Effectiveness measures.
  • Adhere to monthly reporting cycle providing closure for the previous month’s measures for all projects.

 

Reporting:

As may be required, or following the pre-determined project schedule, present oral and written reports defining plans, problems,

and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.

 

Safety, Quality & Environment:

Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude
